3. Sidebar

Course Navigation

The course navigation menu can be collapsed with Menu Icon next to course name in upper left.

Hiding Course Menu

The course navigation provides links to various parts of the course. Not all of these links need to be visible to your students. Links that are disabled will appear grayed out so that you, as the instructor, are still able to access them while your students are not. You will learn how to do this in the next section: Course Layout - Customization.

Content area

This is the main window within your course that shows content. It's where you'll do your building of pages, assignments, quizzes, modules, and all other parts of your course creation.

Breadcrumb navigation

The breadcrumb navigation, which is located above the main content area, shows your current location within a course and allows easy navigation backwards.

Sidebar

The sidebar in the course view will vary depending on the content area that you’re in. It provides contextual options to help build content within the current section.
