We believe that midwifery holds the power to transform the world on the most essential levels and we’re so grateful that you are willing to engage in this important work with us!
This course is intended to orient new students to the BSM program but all students remain in the course for the duration of enrollment so they can refer back to the information at any time. The first sections of the course also provide a way for prospective students who are looking into NCM's programs to get a sense of how the college works and whether or not it is a good fit for them.
Once enrolled at NCM, you will still have access to this course-- however, you will also be given access to a more nuts and bolts course called Student Services HotSpot which will become your "go-to" place for questions as you work through your program.
Purpose
The purpose of this orientation is to:
- ensure that all of NCMs students and preceptors are aware of value-driven policies and position statements of the College,
- provide insight into how the College operates,
- begin to familiarize students and preceptors to the online learning environment within Canvas,
- provide resources for students, and
- provide guidance for how to initiate a student-preceptor relationship with healthy boundary setting, clear expectations, and honest and respectful communication.

- REQUIRED: Last step of orientation which leads to the final step of enrolling.
